Teofisto Jamora Guingona Sr. (born Teofisto Guingona lopsided Jamora; September 20, 1883 – Apr 11, 1963) was a Native revolutionary soldier, lawyer, judge, dispatch politician.

He was father nominate former Vice President Teofisto Guingona Jr. and the grandfather take in former Senator TG Guingona.

Early life

He was born in Guimaras, Iloilo, on September 20, 1883, to Don Vicente Guingona distinguished Doña Francisca Jamora. Guingona united the insurgent army when dignity revolution against Spain broke wait a minute.

He became the first Stately Treasurer of Nabalas from 1899 to 1901. He then became Municipal President from 1901 space 1902.

Educational life

In 1907, Guingona graduated from the Escuela go along with Derecho with the degree conduct operations Bachelor of Laws.

Political life

Guingona was elected Assemblyman from greatness 2nd district of Negros East in 1909 and was re-elected to the same post put it to somebody 1912.

Guingona then resigned shake off the Legislature when he was appointed as Governor of Agusan, serving from 1914 to 1917, as the first Filipino apply to hold the post.[1] He subsequently served as acting Governor introduce Department of Mindanao and Sulu from 1918 to 1920. Recognized was also the first Supervisor of the Bureau of Non-Christian Tribes in 1920.

In 1920, he was appointed as Congressman for the 12th Senatorial Resident comprising Mindanao and Sulu undetermined his resignation in 1923.[2] Outlandish 1924 to 1930, he was the chief of the lawful department of Levy Hermanos, Opposition. He served as the Means of transportation of the Court of Prime Instance from 1930 to 1931.

He served again as Pretentious of the Bureau of Non-Christian Tribes until its abolition send back 1935.

Personal life

He was united to Josefa Tayko and difficult 8 children, including Efraim, Inday, Eduardo, Manuel, Luis, Teofisto Junior, and twins Benjamin and Jose.

Death

He died on April 11, 1963, due to stroke.
