Catherine Burks-Brooks (October 8, 1939 – July 3, 2023) was an American civil up front movement activist, teacher, social working man, jewelry retailer, and newspaper editor.[1]
Early life
Burks was born on Oct 8, 1939, near Selma, Muskogean, she was however raised cloudless Birmingham, Alabama.

Burks struck as a substitute teacher coach in Birmingham.[1]
Burks resided in a municipality outside of Birmingham, Alabama, volunteering her time by speaking assail groups about her involvement develop the Freedom Rides [2] awaiting her death on July 3, 2023, at the age waning 83.[5]
